You're right FEMA isn't exactly well run. I've heard they've spent 275 million for rentintg 2 cruise ships for a year, however there's only 1 and its partially filled. plus greece offered the use of 2 cruiseliners for free.

Anyway, only those you weren't homeless before the hurricane were provided accomodation. Most of the poeple who stayed behind were either students or still have jobs. Those that didn't moved out quickly.

Many of those with jobs have moved to Baton Rouge and commute 2 hrs/day. According to news reports there are a lot of jobs in new orleans but not enough people because people can't find accomodation.

"Also FEMA is going to stop paying families 3-4k rent per month after 18 months, so all these people who're living the high life in hotels and cruiseliners will have to look for proper accomodation."

so after the government cuts them off, who's going to pay their rent? we're not talking about a group of highly employable rocket scientists. and these home builders, who will build your houses, where are they going to live, and who's shipping in the materials? this doesn't sound like a well thought out plan.
