As for me, not doing well because of the massive hit in VWEAX. Suffice to say that I’ve decreased a large portion of that bond fund which effectively lowered my passive income for October. Furthermore, interest rates drop in Aussie govt and further erosion of AUD to USD have effectively wiped out my passive income in that area.

I’m not going into details of my holdings but I have calculated that my passive income has dropped from the old days of $3300 to approximately $2400 with a large figure in Money Market (pathetic but great for waiting to enter…hopefully won’t catch falling knifes).

Fortunately, my net worth didn’t that a double digit hit as a lot of folks did by stupidly clinging to the old “buy stock to fend off inflation” and “buy and hold so that you can avoid paying tax on capital gain” mantras. Nevertheless, this decoupling effect due to LEH (and now Citigroup issue) is hurting almost everyone save for folks like you and the shorties.

Anyway, that $2400/month will not stay this way for too long. However, I’m waiting for this current crisis to become stable before buying more high yield stuff (and there are plenty…believe me folks).
