Investment management jobs are tough. Even now that we are back to bull markets, finding a job there is still tough.

The Capitals, Janus, Brandes, Dodge & Cox of the world all have very high standards. HOpe you can make it to where you want to go.

I realize this post was made a few months ago, but I hope it worked out for you to get a job. I just started B-school as well, but I am going part time at night while working full time. Congratulations on the fellowship, that's quite an achievement. I'm going to San Jose State which has a somewhat affordable program and my company does some tuition reimbursement.

Oh my goodness! Don't get me started lol. I have been searching for a job for about 7 months now. I have tried pretty much everything except walking up to the corporate headquarters of a company with my resume and ask to see the HR manager.

I am a desktop support/helpdesk pro and it seems this industry suddenly became dead. I have had a few interviews which I was sure I got the job but didn't. I even had one director tell me I think you are pretty much in for this position and still didn't get the job.

Anyway, just thought I would throw that out there. I know I just need to keep on trucking and eventually something will happen. But you are right, expanding your network is very important as your next job just may come from the most unlikely place.

By the way, the video hilarious.
